About Climb
Over the last 25 years, aviation has changed substantially.
- Whole new families of aircraft have been developed, such as Very Light Jets, E-VTOLS and Unmanned Aerial Systems.
- Innovative navigation technologies, such as GPS and WAAS, have become dominant. Others, like LORAN and NDBs, are virtually extinct.
- Charting has moved from paper to Electronic Flight Bags, with the integration real time NOTAMs and weather information.
- We’ve begun the journey of replacing Secondary RADAR with ADSB.
And yet, the flight training methods used today are virtually indistinguishable from those of a quarter century ago. At Climb, our mission is to update the way we all teach people to fly.
How are we changing flight training?
Every student is unique. So, we’re developing a Training Management System (“Climb TMS”) that works with both the student and the instructor to adapt the curriculum to their schedule, their learning style, and even the weather.
Climb TMS uses a unique method of tracking prerequisites and currency to ensure that students continue learning without losing the “old knowledge” to disuse. We build and maintain student proficiency regardless of their learning style or learning schedule.
When will Climb TMS be available?
Our “Go Live” schedule is as follows. (Of course, unexpected delays can always occur.)
- October 2024 – Curriculum developers can begin producing courseware.
- November 2024 – Alpha testing (simulated students) begins.
- January 2025 – Beta testing (live students) begins.
- March 2025 – Controlled release begins.
- April 2025 – Climb TMS will be officially released.
